ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH Ngolahun, Kamajei Chiefdom, Moyamba District
Brief Church Profile
St. John Lutheran Church was founded on the 10th February 1989 under the leadership of Evangelist John J. Squire. The church started with a membership of seven ( four men and three women ). The Sunday worship was conducted under a small family Barray.
As the number grew, the congregation transferred to a community Barray. It was on the 12th December 1990 that the congregation made a decision to build a bigger hut for their worship and church meetings. On the 20th April 1990 the congregation started worshiping in the hut.
On the 15th April 1993 the congregation asked the town for a land. The land was given and demarcated by a registered surveyor. Today on that land, we have constructed a church building, one hand pump, three VIP toilets and a parsonage.
The congregation has produced two Evangelists who are currently serving other Lutheran churches in the area.
This congregation has a school called the St. John Lutheran Primary School which was founded on the 10th September 2000. The church also has two preaching points at Foya and Falla respectively.
